Day 30!!!!

Here are the kids thoughts about all this...

T:
Today was the last day of our family’s Vegan Experience. I had a great time and it really helped me realize what being a vegan is all about. I used to think that vegan meant eating only tofu and vegetables, but now I know that it’s just a normal diet just like everyone else. Anyway it has been fun. I want to keep having veggie burgers, lots of noodles, and more fruits and veggies. I don’t like the tofu though :P… I think its kind of weird. I like how I had more energy and didn’t feel bloated all of the time. I’m sad that I messed up a couple times but I think it helped because after I cheated, I felt crappy and wished I hadn’t cheated. I had fun doing this. I really enjoyed our Vegan Experience.

D:
Today is the final day of the Vegan Experience. So far I feel like I have had an amazing opportunity to make myself feel proud.

I would like to keep eating things like the Veggie burgers, the spaghetti, and the Baked Potatoes. We had treats that I would like to keep eating, Like the Vegan Cupcakes that my mom made. They tasted as if an angel came from heaven and handed them to us on a gold plate.

I have enjoyed these wonderful past weeks that made my life change. I hope other people look up to what we did and that they would consider trying what my family and I tried. There were many days that made me stress and have to calm down. But I still made it through. It was hard most of the time like when we went to birthday parties and we had to just watch other people eat cake. Like I said before, I still made it through.

We should all thank the people who started to realize what the world was doing to animals and did something about it.

Dillon, out…

E:
Today was the final day of the vegan experience.  I want to keep on having veggie burgers, chicken patties (vegan ones) peanut butter sandwiches and fruit leathers and my granola bars.  I am going to add back in cheese, but not too much because of my eczema.  When I didn’t have cheese and milk while we were vegan, my eczema went away pretty much all the way.  I think I will sometimes eat meat.  I will eat eggs for breakfast because poached eggs are my favorite.  I feel proud of myself for doing this.  I felt good and it was hard.  I only failed once or twice.  We all did good.  I am glad we did the vegan experience.

Day 29, really?

We did spaghetti with tomato sauce and veggie "meatballs" for dinner and dad had to work late so the meatballs made a mean meatball sub sandwich.  We had the kids do some videos and put down their thoughts about the Vegan Experience!

Day 28

Thursdays are typically our "quiet night".  We had parent-teacher conferences so we did have a little running around and Mom and Dad made a Coscto run for toilet paper, dish soap and a few other minor things.  The kids insisted on Veggie Burgers and Vegan Chickn' Fillet Burgers one last time.  Those will be a keeper; we all loved them and I loved that dinner comes together in 5 mintues on the skillet while dad puts a salad together and we cut up apples.  We ended the night with some popcorn and did a family read of this cute book from the book fair, "When You Reach Me" by Rebecca Stead.  Man, I love Thursdays...

Day 27

Mom had finals tonight (totally nailed it!) so dad got Van's vegan and gluten free waffles for dinner.  Needless to say, there were no complaints!
